Part-Time Art Teacher

St. Gregory Classical Academy is seeking a part-time Instructor of Art (approximately 1½ days per week) to join our growing Orthodox Christian classical school. We are looking for a creative individual who enjoys drawing, painting, crafting, and making beautiful things—and who finds joy in sharing those gifts with children. A teaching degree is not required. Whether you are an artist, illustrator, painter, craftsperson, or simply someone with a passion for the arts and a heart for young people, we encourage you to apply. The ideal candidate will help students develop foundational artistic skills while cultivating creativity, wonder, and an appreciation for beauty as a reflection of God’s creation. Candidates should embrace the mission of St. Gregory Classical Academy and desire to help form students in both wisdom and virtue through the classical tradition.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach engaging art lessons for elementary and middle school students.
  • Introduce students to a variety of artistic techniques, media, and the works of the great masters.
  • Foster a classroom environment marked by respect, order, creativity, and joy.
  • Encourage students to develop patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
  • Prepare student artwork for classroom displays and school events.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school leadership.
  • Collaborate with faculty to support the mission and culture of the Academy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of St. Gregory Classical Academy.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire students through both artistic excellence and Christian character.
