Office Administrator

Welcome to the Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church!  

The office administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the church office and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed in a smooth and efficient manner to enable the church to achieve its mission. The functions of the position include office and administrative support, parish clergy support, financial/bookkeeping support, calendar and event-space management, and parish council support. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, problem solving, and time management skills, as well as strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Office and Administrative Support: Serve as the main point of contact for people contacting the office – including parishioners and vendors, manage daily office operations, manage inventory of religious and non-religious items and office supplies, assist in coordinating communications and scheduling ministry event spaces.
  • Parish Clergy Support: Work with parish priest to determine and manage documents, scheduling, compiling and preparing weekly bulletins and other material needed for church services.
  • Financial/Bookkeeping Support: Assist our treasurer and bookkeeper with making and recording deposits, recording transactions for review by treasurer including scanning and uploading documents, maintaining accurate stewardship records, and generating necessary reports.
  • Calendar and Event Space Management: Manage church hall rentals, including working with parishioners and others to schedule dates and ensure space availability, and communicating with facilities manager to ensure event spaces are properly set up. Assist with coordinating property maintenance and repairs.
  • Parish Council Support: Assist with parish mailings and other communications, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Capable of excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Highly organized, attentive to details, and possess a professional demeanor.
  • A proactive person who will look for ways to prioritize, increase efficiency, and offer recommendations to improve the smooth running of the office.
  • Professional commitment to a high-level of confidentiality in all matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.  Knowledge of Quickbooks Online and Adobe Suite preferred.  
  • Must sign non-disclosure agreement and pass background check.

Hours/Compensation:

  • 35 hours per week in-person in the church office
  • $25-$31 per hour, based on experience
  • Employee health insurance allowance
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
