Interim Marketing Coordinator

About OYM

As the national youth and young adult ministry of the Assembly of Canonical Bishops, Orthodox Youth and Young Adult Ministries (OYM) connects, supports, and equips the many vibrant ministries already at work across Orthodox jurisdictions — because no one should feel like they’re doing ministry alone. We are building an Orthodox network for those who minister to young people across the United States.

About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, creative, and highly self-directed Interim Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This is not a role for someone who needs hand-holding — we need a proven, independent professional who can hit the ground running, take ownership of their work, and execute at a high level with minimal supervision. You will support our marketing initiatives by producing compelling social media content, executing email campaigns, and helping promote our programs and projects across multiple channels. You must be fully fluent in the modern digital landscape, including the strategic use of AI tools to elevate the quality and efficiency of our communications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about digital marketing who is eager to make a meaningful impact within Orthodox Christian ministry.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Content Creation

  • Independently develop, manage, and schedule engaging content across platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Produce short-form videos, design graphics, and write copy that aligns with our brand voice and campaign goals
  • Leverage AI tools and modern production software to produce polished, professional-grade content efficiently
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community activity in a timely manner
  • Track social media analytics and deliver regular, insight-driven performance reports

Email Marketing

  • Build, schedule, and send mass email campaigns with minimal oversight, taking full responsibility for quality and deliverability
  • Write clear and persuasive email copy, including subject lines, body content, and calls to action
  • Manage and segment contact lists to ensure targeted and effective messaging
  • Analyze open rates, click-through rates, and other key metrics and translate findings into actionable improvements

Content Promotion & Campaign Support

  • Promote content and campaigns across multiple platforms and initiatives simultaneously, managing your own workflow and deadlines
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information and assets for promotional materials
  • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing calendars and content schedules
  • Support the development of blog posts, newsletters, and other written marketing collateral

End-of-Contract Assessment & Roadmap Deliverable

A key deliverable of this role is a practical, ground-level assessment of our current communications operations. By the end of the contract period, you will be expected to produce a clear document — such as a written report, presentation, or structured brief — that captures:

  • An honest audit of where our marketing and communications currently stand, based on your direct, day-to-day experience in the role
  • Specific, actionable next steps needed to move us to the next level — grounded in what you have actually seen and worked with, not theoretical strategy
  • Practical recommendations for tools, workflows, staffing, or systems that would enable continued progress after the contract concludes
  • A prioritized list of improvements that could be immediately project-managed if leadership chooses to move forward

This is not a strategic visioning exercise — it is a boots-on-the-ground account of what is working, what is not, and exactly what it would take to improve. Deliverable format is flexible; clarity and practicality are what matter.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing, communications, or content creation role, with a demonstrated and measurable track record of success in outreach and audience impact (e.g., growth in followers, engagement rates, email list growth, open rates, or campaign reach)
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a full workload without close supervision
  • Fully up to date with the modern digital marketing landscape, including active, fluent use of AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to enhance content quality and workflow
  • Strong written communication skills with high standards for clarity, tone, and polish
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and current best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar platforms
  • Experience running paid ads through Google and/or Meta
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with video production tools such as CapCut, Riverside, or similar
  • Basic knowledge of SEO principles and content strategy
  • Familiarity with CRM or marketing automation platforms
  • Prior experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand

What We Offer

  • A collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Opportunities for professional growth and skill development
  • Meaningful work that serves Christ and His Church
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
