Position Overview
This is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the Assistant Director of Ministries. The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of outreach efforts, chapter support systems, and relationship-building initiatives that strengthen OCF’s presence among students, clergy, parishes, parents, alumni, and prospective students.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact for OCF chapters nationwide, helping respond to chapter needs, support student leaders, and assist in the growth and formation of new and existing chapters. They will also lead strategic outreach initiatives, including College Days, high school outreach, alumni engagement efforts, and national prospective student outreach systems.
Responsibilities
- As part of the ministry team, plan and execute outreach initiatives that increase awareness of and engagement with OCF among students, parishes, clergy, parents, and alumni
- Serve as a primary point of contact for chapters, responding to needs, answering questions, and helping connect leaders with appropriate resources
- Assist chapters through the chartering process and support the launch of new chapters
- Coordinate and strengthen annual high school outreach efforts by gathering, organizing, and distributing incoming student information to chapters
- Develop improved systems and strategies for collecting prospective student data from parishes, dioceses, camps, schools, and other Orthodox networks
- Lead the planning and execution of College Days programs in collaboration with parishes and partner organizations, including travel and on-site facilitation
- Collaborate with and support the Alumni Advisory Board in the growth of OCF’s alumni network and alumni ambassador initiatives
- Help cultivate alumni engagement through opportunities related to mentorship, parish support, networking, volunteering, and giving
- Coordinate outreach communications in collaboration with staff and external design partners
- Work collaboratively with OCF staff to identify new opportunities for growth, visibility, and connection across the Orthodox Christian community
- Prioritize chapter communication, responsiveness, and relationship care

- Exceptional communicator, both written and spoken, with strong people skills
- Proven track record in relationship-building and managing multiple constituencies
- Excellent time management skills, who is organized and willing to be held accountable
- Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new tools and platforms
- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force, along with having a passion for working with college students
- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, students, clergy, board members, volunteers, donors, alumni, and supporters
- Self-starter, able to work independently and entrepreneurially; enjoys creating and improving systems and launching new initiatives
Requirements
- Faith and Education: Due to the nature of and responsibilities for this position, an Orthodox Christian who has a foundational knowledge of the faith and experience with the various traditions within American Orthodoxy is essential. A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Travel: Candidates must be willing to travel several times a year as it relates to outreach responsibilities, chapter support, College Days, and other ministry initiatives.
- Experience and Values:
- Experience in outreach, ministry, communications, relationship management, program design, and/or implementation preferred
- Experience with customer service, constituent care, or front-facing communication preferred
- Experience coordinating projects and improving systems preferred
- Experience working in a team-oriented, virtual environment preferred
- A technology enthusiast who adopts new technology early and is a quick learner of new applications
