Chanter

Kimisis tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, located in Poughkeepsie, New York, is seeking a qualified Chanter to serve on Sundays and for all services of the liturgical cycle throughout the ecclesiastical year.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the modal structure of Byzantine Chant and able to chant proficiently in both English and Greek.

Responsibilities include:

• All Sunday services
• Weekday services and other sacraments on an as-needed basis
• Providing leadership at the chanters’ stand
• Coordinating with and mentoring volunteer chanters and readers
• Compensation is commensurate with experience.
