FOCUS Atlanta - Loaves and Fishes Center Director
The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve (FOCUS), is seeking a part-time director for the FOCUS Atlanta – Loaves and Fishes Center. Anticipated hours are between 25 to 30 hours per week. The work of FOCUS Atlanta occurs at St. John the Wonderworker Orthodox Church, located at 543 Cherokee Ave SE, Atlanta, GA, and requires the director to be onsite Mon – Fri weekly. Some responsibilities are also completed offsite, such as collecting donations and meeting with community partners and Orthodox clergy and parishioners. The position reports to the Director of Operations of FOCUS North America.
The FOCUS Atlanta Center Director is responsible for a vibrant ministry to underprivileged and unhoused individuals of the community. The ministry includes daily hot meals and sacked lunch distributions. Additional services include coordination with partnering healthcare and service providers who provide onsite care on a regular schedule.
The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and/or skill sets:
- The ability to work directly with those served by the ministry on a daily basis
- The ability to work cross jurisdictionally with local Orthodox parishes to engage volunteers to serve at the center
- The ability to meet with donors, both in and out of the Orthodox community, to cultivate funds in support of the ministry, as the work of FOCUS NA is 100% donor funded.
- Familiarity with and direct knowledge of local Orthodox parishes is a significant plus.
FOCUS has a team of support staff who work with its center directors in the above efforts, as well as providing overall clarity of work and mission, marketing and social media communications, and management of local center financial information.
