Development Director
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development:
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of high-impact programs aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic goals, in collaboration with the Director, staff, and under the direction and reporting to the President and the National Executive Board.
- Collaborate with the Executive Board, internal teams, and external partners to develop innovative program models that address community needs.
- Monitor and assess program effectiveness, leveraging data and stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.
Grant Funding & Management:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of grants, including solicitation, proposal review, awarding, monitoring, and reporting.
- Work closely with grantees to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and strategic alignment with organizational priorities.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including private foundations, corporate partnerships, and government grants.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key funders and stakeholders to expand funding opportunities and partnerships.
Financial Oversight:
- Assist in budget planning and financial forecasting to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Monitor grant expenditures and program budgets, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and funder requirements.
- Prepare financial reports, analyze funding trends, and provide recommendations for sustainable financial strategies.
- Work closely with the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program development, grant funding, or financial management within a philanthropic, nonprofit, or similar environment.
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing grants from private, corporate, and government sources.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management and compliance regulations.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Should be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Teams, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of the Greek language and culture is preferred but not required.
