Choir Director

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Woburn, MA is a growing and dynamic parish seeking a dedicated Choir Director to lead and inspire our parish choir. The ideal candidate will bring both musical expertise and a spirit of service to enhance the worship life of our community through music.

Responsibilities:

• Direct, rehearse, and conduct the parish choir for weekly Sunday Divine Liturgy, and occasional Lenten services.
• Select and prepare appropriate liturgical music in accordance with Orthodox tradition.
• Teach and develop choir members, fostering musical and spiritual growth.
• Cultivate youth involvement in the choir, eventually forming a Youth Choir if possible. 
• Collaborate with the parish priest and chanter to plan music for services and ensure liturgical flow and unity of worship.
  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience directing and leading a choir.
• Strong communication, teaching, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to the mission and life of the parish.

Preferences:

• Strong knowledge of both Greek and English liturgical singing.
• Familiarity with Byzantine music traditions and repertoire.

Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
