Assistant Social Worker
Key Responsibilities:
Client Support & Case Management:
- Assist in assessing client needs and developing individualized support plans.
- Provide direct support, advocacy, and referrals to appropriate social services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
- Follow up with clients to ensure continuity of care and program effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively with the existing social worker to coordinate client care and share best practices.
Program Coordination, Resource Development & Community Engagement:
- Support the implementation of community outreach programs and services. Some travel may be required for this position.
- Collaborate with social workers, volunteers, and partner organizations to coordinate resources.
- Assist in organizing workshops, support groups, and informational sessions.
- Promote awareness of available social services and resources within the community.
- Adapt existing social services resources into educational tools that are more digestible and accessible for clients and community members.
- Assist in modernizing client support systems, including the implementation and management of a new client database to improve service delivery and reporting.
Administrative & Compliance Duties:
- Ensure all client interactions and case files comply with confidentiality and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in grant reporting and program evaluations as needed.
- Participate in Social Services Committee meetings and contribute to program development initiatives and interface with the National Executive Board as requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in social services, community outreach, or case management.
- Strong understanding of social service systems and available community resources.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.
- Should be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Teams, Excel and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of the Greek language and culture is preferred but not required.
