Assistant Controller
Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily and as needed:
- Payables/invoices using Quickbooks
- Day to day operations of the church and office
- Deposits of checks and cash
Monthly:
- Process and reconcile payroll
- Process Stewardship payments
- Assist in preparation of financial statements for review by Treasurer and distribution to ministries and Parish Council
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Financial Reporting
Annual:
- Year-end 1099 reporting
- Ad hoc reports
Skills and Specifications:
- Knowledge of basic generally accepted accounting principles and practices applicable to not-for-profit organizations
- Strong organizational skiils; ability to multitask, handling multiple projects and requests at the same time
- Detail-oriented and analytical problem solving and data analysis
- Proficient with Quickbooks, Microsoft Suite products (i.e., Word, Excel)
- Must have excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong team player and moral compass
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, preferable accounting or finance; experience working in a not-for-profit organization is a plus
