Head Baker / Pastry Chef

At King & Saint Cafe, we’re not simply making coffee and baking pastries— we’re crafting memorable experiences. 

We’re looking for an exceptional Head Baker/Pastry Chef to lead our back of house department, where creativity and leadership will shine in a high-energy, high-volume environment. If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of pastry artistry, and want to work with like minded professionals and believers, this is your opportunity! This position can be part time, or full-time. 

What You’ll Do:

Lead with Passion: Manage the creation of an array of exquisite pastries, breads, and crepes that not only taste incredible but also reflect the sophistication of our space. 

Master Efficient Production: In the fast-paced world, precision and efficiency are key. You’ll oversee daily baking operations, ensuring that every bakery item is prepared on time and to the highest standards, all while managing the complexities that come with being in a start-up business. 

Innovate Constantly: You’ll have the creative freedom to develop new recipes that delight and surprise our clientele. Who knows - your creations may set new trends!

Collaborate at the Top: Work hand-in-hand with our leadership team to build a thriving local small business. Your input will be crucial in delivering flawless experiences for our clients.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience:1-3 years in pastry, with a strong background in small-batch and cafe baking. Management experience is a big plus.

Artistic Flair: A talent for creating visually stunning desserts that match King & Saint Cafe’s sophisticated aesthetic. You have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for presentation.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and train a team, ensuring that every team member upholds our high standards. You’re not just a chef—you’re a mentor and a leader.

Certified and Committed: ServSafe certification is required, along with a deep commitment to food safety and quality control. If you are not ServSafe certified we can assist with costs - but you must be willing to get certified. 

Details: 

The cafe will be open Monday-Saturday. We will be closed Sundays. 

Salary is negotiable based on experience - as well as preference of hours desired. 

The cafe will be open starting at 7 a.m. and baking shifts will likely need to be before than (4:30 - 5) to ensure freshness. The goal is for pastries to be baked fresh daily.
