Facilities Manager
Primary Purpose:
The Facilities Manager oversees building and grounds maintenance, coordinates maintenance schedules, manages inventory of equipment and supplies, and ensures the sanctuary is prepared for sacraments under guidance of clergy. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of facility maintenance, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, security/fire alarm systems, and general repairs. They maintain custodial functions, uphold cleanliness standards according to church policies, and ensure compliance with maintenance protocols and safety procedures.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and facilities management software
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple activities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in building management, budgeting, and financial operations
Familiarity with equipment such as HVAC, plumbing, security, and fire alarms. Active OSHA-10/30, First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor, and Facility Manager certifications are a plus, but not a requirement
- Ability to perform labor-intensive tasks and lift heavy objects (26-50 pounds) occasionally
- Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Effective leadership and problem-solving abilities
Experience:
- Previous experience in building management or related field
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with clergy to maintain church and office calendar
- Develop long-range plans for effective building management
- Monitor effectiveness of building policies and procedures
- Ensure quality control of equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance
- Supervise contract workers on premises
- Schedule preventative maintenance for equipment and systems
- Make budget recommendations to Maintenance Committee
- Coordinate building personnel and resources efficiently
- Liaise with building users and service providers
- Maintain inventory and depreciation records
- Collaborate with Maintenance Committee on equipment requisitions
- Preserve church buildings and grounds
- Monitor cleanliness and conservation efforts
- Prepare the hall, conference room, and other areas for various events and functions
- Maintain hazardous communication regulation compliance
- Manage record-keeping in collaboration with Office Manager
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly
- Perform additional duties as assigned
