Social Media Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

About Us:

The mission of St. Herman House - FOCUS Cleveland is to shelter and support homeless men on the path to well-being and independence and meet the basic needs of people in our community.

Job Summary:

Drafts communications items (social media posts, newsletters, etc.) and assists the Director of FOCUS Cleveland with general accounting functions (record-keeping, donor acknowledgements, etc.).

Position Type:

Part time (24 hrs/wk) – Exempt

Organizational Management Reporting:

  • Reports to the Director of FOCUS Cleveland
  • Collaborates and coordinates with FOCUS North America Communications Associate

Responsibilities:

  • Drafts and updates a schedule for regular social media posts sharing the work of FOCUS Cleveland
  • Drafts regular newsletters sharing the work of FOCUS Cleveland
  • Drafts press releases sharing the work of FOCUS Cleveland
  • Attends and documents (photos, videos, etc.) events at FOCUS Cleveland, as required by Director of FOCUS Cleveland
  • Supports Director of FOCUS Cleveland in the preparation of presentations and slide decks
  • Assists the Direct of FOCUS Cleveland with general accounting functions utilizing various web-based software products
  • Assists the Director in preparing gift acknowledgements for larger donations. 
  • Prepares staff timesheets for Director’s approval.

Education Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree within a relevant field of study preferred 
  • Minimum of three years of experience in social media, marketing, or communications work
  • Familiarity with photography and photo editing software a major plus
  • Familiarity with Donorperfect a plus
  • Familiarity with the doctrines and traditions of the Orthodox Church

Core Competencies:

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent products
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and their analytics
  • Service minded
  • Cultural and local area sensitivity
  • Ability to understand and work with homeless, impoverished, and / or vulnerable communities and demographics
  • Demonstrated advanced communication skills (written and verbal)

Working Conditions:

  • Must reside in general proximity of FOCUS Cleveland
  • Nominal but present security risk working with vulnerable communities at FOCUS Cleveland events
