Principal
We are a relatively small Greek school at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Blue Point, NY. We currently have 20 students enrolled offering Greek language curriculum for ages 4 and up. We are looking for a permanent principal who will lead our school in every aspect expected of a principal, including teaching.
Applicants MUST have experience in running an afternoon Greek school that meets once a week.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the Greek school program
- Planning the school calendar and events
- Celebration program planning (selecting songs, poems, assigning parts to plays, dance etc.)
- Managing classes and teachers
- Coordinating with Greek School PTO board to help plan events for the kids
- Teaching in Greek
- Being a warm, yet firm director for children and teachers to look up to.
Greek school at St. John's in Blue Point is on Friday evenings from 5:15 to 8:15 pm. Principal is required to be early, unlock the doors, and prepare for the day. Home preparation for weekly activities and special events is required. Payment is monthly and is a fixed rate including holidays.
