Part-time Teachers (K-1 Teacher & Elem/MS History)
Our Story
We are a group of Orthodox Christian families who, after gathering weekly for a grassroots homeschool co-operative for two years, prayerfully decided to launch a K-8 Orthodox hybrid school to serve the Metro Atlanta community in Fall 2023.
Since then, we have received 21 amazing students, a magnificent team of teachers and admin staff, along with many supportive volunteers and benefactors. God has blessed this school abundantly, in spite of and through our many shortcomings, and we continue to see God's hand in it all, through the intercessions of our patron saint, St. Nektarios of Pentapolis.

Due to unexpected personal and health reasons, two of our wonderful teachers have recently resigned, and we are looking to fill their positions immediately.
Hybrid Model
TOA is a hybrid school (2 days of in-person classes, remaining days are at home), which uses the time-tested multi-grade classroom approach. At the moment, our school is divided into 3 multi-grade classrooms (K-1, 2-4, MS). The school meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays (both days for K-1 but the history position is just Tuesdays, unless the same person is doing both.)
Curriculum
The curriculum that we use has been compiled and designed by the school, and is often "open-and-go," which makes it very easy to follow, providing scripted lesson plans for newer teachers. Teachers are responsible for finalizing their own lesson plans, grading, and communicating with parents.
Requirements
The minimum requirement to apply is a bachelor's degree. Classroom (school or homeschool) experience is preferred, but we will also be mentoring the new teachers when they join our team. (Teacher's certification is not required.)
Compensation
$35-40 per teaching/classroom hour commensurate with experience (NOTE: The $35-40 hourly rate is the rate the teacher is paid per classroom hour). This rate assumes the instructor spends a reasonable amount of time outside the classroom in preparation, grading and communication with parents. While the teacher is not paid for hourly time working outside the classroom, that responsibility has been built into the hourly classroom rate.
