Office of Spiritual Formation & Counseling Services (SFCS) 

The SFCS supports the mission of Hellenic College Holy Cross by nurturing the spiritual and psychological well-being and development of all students and their families, working in conjunction with the faculty, alumni, and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. Services are available to all students and family members.

Summary of Position 

Assist students with advancing their personal, academic, and emotional development. 

This is a part-time, 9-month, hourly position, 10-15 hours per week, which follows the academic calendar, starting late August and ending in May with time off during winter and spring breaks.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provide solution-focused, individual counseling and group support 
  • Provide student intakes/screenings, crisis intervention, and assessment 
  • Follow through with record-keeping and case management 
  • Outreach to the student population through educational programming and workshops 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education & Experience 

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in counseling, social work, or other mental health fields. 
  • A Massachusetts state license or eligibility for a MA license is required. 
  • At least one year of counseling experience.  A supervised practicum experience could meet this requirement  
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, including students with learning challenges. 
  • Ability to understand and support the teachings and values of the Orthodox Christian Faith. 
  • A willingness to participate in weekly individual and group supervision with a licensed clinician.
