Parish Administrator

Mission: Implement the vision, direction, and policies established by the Parish Priest and Parish Council to further the mission and vision of the parish.

Function of work:  The Parish Administrator position oversees and manages the day-to-day operation and function of the parish under the direction of the Parish Priest. This position facilitates the yearly work of the Priest and Parish Council.

Level of work:  Part Time with the intention of scaling up to Full Time

Duties and responsibilities (include but not limited to):


  1. Implement policies and procedures developed by Parish Council for various aspects of parish administration
  2. Establish and maintain centralized parish records
  3. Plan, direct, and coordinate the church office work
  4. Oversee administration of the parish information management system (PDS)
  5. Oversee day-to-day operations and needs of the parish
  6. Manage assigned parish projects 

Building Services

  1. Supervise property and facility management
  2. Oversee maintenance contracts
  3. Coordinate events that occur in the facilities
  4. Act as a liaison for the daily events that occur during building construction or maintenance projects, maintaining daily contact with the site supervisor
  5. Manage janitorial staff


  1. Maintain all financial records
  2. Assist in financial PDS reporting
  3. Manage Vanco e-Giving platform
  4. Supervise vendor selection and purchasing for the parish


  1. Annually coordinate the development of the parish calendar
  2. Provide administrative support for ministries

Parish Communications

  1. Coordinate parish communications with Communication Director
  2. Publish weekly communications (email, bulletins, social media)
  3. Execute additional marketing campaigns designed by Communication Director
  4. Coordinate parish mailings 

Parishioner Services

  1. Ensure that the office staff and volunteers provide confidential and quality service to parishioners who are in need of pastoral care through empathic listening skills and timely referral to the Parish Priest or other pertinent ministry group leaders
  2. Oversee coordination of sacraments for parishioners
  3. Maintain membership database non-financial information
  4. Maintain the confidentiality of financial and other sensitive information 


  1. Coordinate & recruit office volunteer
  2. Supervise Communication Director


  1. Prior managerial, administrative, and secretarial experience
  2. Proven organizational skills
  3. Excellent computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
  4. Excellent communication skills: written, oral, and interpersonal
  5. Familiarity and comfort with social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram)
  6. Working knowledge of financial principles

 Reporting line:  Parish Priest and Parish Council President

  1. Knowledge of Orthodox Christian ecclesiology and Greek culture
  2. Self-motivated, dependable, flexible, punctual, conscientious, honest and trustworthy
  3. Enjoys working with others and is a team player
  4. Flexible schedule for periodic evening meetings
