Head of School

Head of School Position Profile

For July 1, 2022

St. Peter’s Classical School (SPCS) is an Orthodox Christian, coeducational, college preparatory school focused on providing a rigorous classical education to students from age 3 through 12th grade. Located on a beautiful 3.5 acre campus in southwest Fort Worth, SPCS serves students “by cultivating the intellect, building character, and nurturing the life of the spirit,” according to its mission statement.

With about 100 students spread across three divisions — Lower, Middle, and Upper School — SPCS has experienced a period of growth over the last few years. The school has recently completed its re-accreditation review; the faculty has grown in number and quality; the finances are healthy; extracurricular programs in theater and athletics are taking shape; and enrollment has been growing year-over-year. Known for its close-knit sense of community, small class sizes, and strong relationships between students and faculty, the school is located in a very dynamic and growing area of the city and represents an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced classical school leader.

The Head of School is the sole employee of the Board of Trustees and serves as the chief administrator and lead educator of the school with supervisory responsibility for the academic, athletic, cultural, social, and artistic programs. The Head supervises all faculty and staff and oversees the planning of the academic curriculum, the development of extracurricular activities and auxiliary programs, the preparation and management of budgets (subject to the approval of the Board), long-range planning, fundraising, maintenance and improvement of the physical plant, and the development and implementation of marketing programs. The Head is also responsible for maintaining productive relationships between SPCS and all its stakeholders, especially the Board, parents, students, alumni, friends, ecclesial leaders, and members of St. Peter Orthodox Church, which owns the campus.

St. Peter’s Classical School seeks an experienced K-12 educational leader, with proven success as a supervisor in a classical school setting, as well as a deep commitment to Orthodox Christian education in a school community that includes families of many faith backgrounds. Candidates should be faithful communicants of a canonical Orthodox Christian Church. The position begins July 1, 2022 or sooner, depending on availability.
