Position Announcement 

Saint Nectarios Greek School is looking for a new School Director for the 2022-2023 School Year.  The role of the Saint Nectarios Greek School Director is to be fully responsible for the operation of the school from registration to curriculum and daily activities.  

The Saint Nectarios Greek School has nearly 100 students enrolled and consists of classes from pre-K through 6th grade, plus a Teen Track Conversational Greek class for 7-12 grade.  The Greek School program covers reading, writing, and speaking as well as Greek Dance. 

Greek School classes are in session on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:30-6:30 pm. Teen Track is on Fridays from 4:30-6:30.  Director must arrive by 4 pm on days when class is in session and will leave after the last student is picked up from class. Hours may be extended for Greek School Open House, Greek School Programs, and/or Parent/Teacher Conferences.   


Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in Greece or in the United States 
  • Must be fluent in the Greek language (C1 level or higher)
  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience in education including instruction, supervision, and administration of educational programs, and knowledge of curriculum and programmatic development
  • Must be enthusiastic, approachable, and possess a genuine passion for learning and teaching
  • Must have excellent record-keeping skills for attendance and grades.
  • Must possess excellent written and communication skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States 

Duties and Responsibilities

This is a combination administrative and education position designed to carry out the school vision and perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: 

Creation and implementation of policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budget in a manner that promotes the overall growth of the school 

Ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.  Updating policies and communicating updates to the parent handbook and teacher’s handbook as necessary 

Hiring and evaluating teaching staff, managing enrollment and class assignments, and maintaining roster of substitute teachers. Submitting payroll to office staff for processing 

Hosting Greek School Open House as well as the Christmas, Greek Independence Day, and Graduation/End of Year School Programs 

Attending/coordinating participation at area activities such as Greek Letters program, Agrafon, Greek Parade, etc. 

Holding meetings with teaching staff on a monthly basis (or as necessary) 

Communicating fundraising/hosting needs with Greek School PTO  

Other duties necessary to run the school 


In addition to the above administrative duties, the Director will teach the Teen Track conversational Greek Class on Fridays from 4:30-6:30.
