Director of Operations and Community Engagement

Summary:

FOCUS North America is looking to fill a new senior level management position. The Director of Operations and Community Engagement will oversee all of the operational initiatives of FOCUS local centers and national programs, as well as steward Orthodox parishes and communities as they identify local needs, train up local leaders, and build new ministry serving our most vulnerable neighbors in need of food, clothing, occupation, and shelter resources.

FOCUS North America is a faith-based not-for-profit whose mission is to engage Orthodox Christians in service to others.  This mission is accomplished in a variety of ways and includes food and clothing distribution, meals, and housing services for the less fortunate.

As a result of an organizational restructuring, FOCUS is looking to fill a new senior level management position. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations and Community Engagement will oversee all of the operational initiatives of FOCUS local centers and national programs.

This is a salary position and is full-time, fully remote, that requires some travel

Job Duties:

  • Direct operational oversight of all FOCUS centers and programs and is the direct supervisor for all center and program managers
  • Plays a key role in the completion of strategic planning goals and initiatives
  • Will be responsible for leading the organization’s growth initiative to develop new centers
  • Will be responsible for leading the organization’s efforts to increase engagement of Orthodox Christians in service to others
  • Along with the CFO, assure all centers and programs are operating within an approved budget and assist in the annual budgeting process
  • Coordinate the reporting of statistical data and metrics for all centers and programs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field of study
  • Minimum of 3-years of relevant leadership experience at a director level
  • Minimum of 2 years working with organizational Boards
  • Management of staff (2+) and / or volunteers
  • Program Management (Food Service, Clothing Service) preferred
  • Budget Development and Management ($100,000+/year)
  • Service minded
  • Entrepreneurial minded and skilled with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to build organizational relationships between FOCUS and Orthodox churches, communities and leaders
