Controller - CFO

The Controller/CFO will have the primary responsibility of planning, implementing, managing, and running of all the financial activities of the organization including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and negotiations.

As part of the executive leadership team, the Controller/CFO will have interaction with various members of the organization and will report directly to the USK President.

This position is part time. Candidate must be able to be on campus approximately once a week with flexible scheduling options for the additional hours. We anticipate approximately 20-30 work hours per week.

Position Overview:

  • Provide leadership, direction and management of 1-2 department personnel
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the president and members of the executive leadership team
  • Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning
  • Reviewing all formal finance related procedures
  • Oversee all university invoicing, A/R, A/P, as well as other organizational functions.
  • Oversee the collection and distribution of information to the appropriate parties for the preparation of annual tax returns

  • Proven prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Quickbooks
  • Experience with non-profits a plus
  • Experience with institutes of higher education or other schools a plus
