Faculty Position: Modern Greek Studies: Language, Literature, and History (tenure-track)
Reports to: Dean of Hellenic College
Hellenic College announces the availability of a tenure-track position in Modern Greek Studies: Language, Literature, and History at the rank of assistant professor to begin July 1, 2023.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or its equivalent in Modern Greek Language & Literature or in a related area. Strength in Greek-American Studies is also a plus. In-person instruction and a significant on-campus presence is required.
Evidence of teaching excellence is essential (preferred minimum of five years experience), as is also scholarly participation in the field through writing and research, and engagement in activities (conferences, membership in organizations, etc.) related to Modern Greek Studies, especially Modern Greek Language. The candidate is expected to teach all levels of Modern Greek.
Since the instruction in Modern Greek Language at Hellenic College is aimed at both future clergy and lay leaders, it is expected that an applicant for this position would be comfortable with the life of the Orthodox Christian Church.
Assistant professor rank; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
