Orthodox Illustrator

Position Overview:

An Orthodox illustrator is needed for a book to be published about the Harrowing of Hell.

Job Description:

Orthodox artist Jonathan Jackson from Nashville, Tuck Everlasting, and Elder Joseph the Hesychast, has written an epic poem about Christ’s Descent into Hades. He is looking for an Orthodox illustrator for the book’s publication. Please be prepared to produce between five to seven illustrations.

There are two sample works of art below; one is a painting and the other is a sketch. We are open to both of these approaches, depending on the artist's background and strengths. The most important aspect is that the portrayal of Christ is reverent and beautiful and depicts Him as the Lover of Mankind and Vanquisher of Death.

Timeline:

We’re looking for an illustrator to come on board as soon as possible. The illustrations would need to be completed by early October.

Compensation:

We have a budget of $500-$1,000 per illustration. Currently, there is an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the illustrations.

To Apply:

Please send your resume and at least two sample illustrations to jonathan@jonathanjackson.com.
