Director Level: Department Director reports to Executive Director
The Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC), the missions agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the United States of America, has an immediate opening for a Missionary Director at its St. Augustine, Florida headquarters.
OCMC is a 501c3 Christian nonprofit organization working to bring people to Christ, establish the Church and share Christ’s love. The Missionary Director is responsible for the operation and development of the OCMC Missionary Program, under guidance provided by the Executive Director. The Missionary Director professional will become one of the faces of OCMC, both at home and abroad, to expand its missionary program and participate as a key player to fulfill OCMC’s vision and mission to bring people to Christ, establish the Church and share Christ’s love.
Assists the Executive Director to develop and implement the goals and vision of OCMC through its missionaries in countries around the world.
Interacts with mission leaders worldwide to execute OCMC’s global mission to the nations.
Supervises and participates in recruiting, training, sending, managing, and supporting missionaries in regions that lie within OCMC’s purview.
This is an excellent opportunity to participate in the mandate of Jesus Christ to “make disciples of all nations,” in a growing Orthodox Christian agency that provides competitive compensation and benefits.
The successful candidate will need strong leadership skills along with the ability to effectively manage, motivate, and direct full-time paid and volunteer personnel. The ability to effectively reach out and establish relationships with church leaders, believers, and donors is also necessary.
The new Missionary Director must be an Orthodox Christian, belonging to one of the jurisdictions of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.
It is preferred that the candidate will have:
A minimum of 3 years’ prior service as an overseas missionary.
A degree in missiology, or a willingness to engage in further study in the field.
An Orthodox Christian theological education.
It will be helpful that the candidate will also have a background and competency in fundraising and management or be willing to take courses in these areas to advance their competencies.
