Intern - Department Growth

The Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America seeks an unpaid intern for the Spring 2020 semester to promote the work of the Department through increased communication through various platforms and to build a sustainable structure for consistent promotion and outreach.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate college student or recent graduate, based in New York City based in New York City and/or surrounding metropolitan areas;
  • Studies: Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a similar area of study;
  • Excellent written and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Experience in building a social media presence and brand on social networks.

Intern Responsibilities

The intern will report to the Director and Coordinator of Programs of the Department

  • Create a long-term strategy to promote the work of the Department through newsletters, website content, and social media presence;
  • Write protocols for all promotion and communication campaigns for use by all future interns;
  • Build a system for all content approval, content tracking and posting for important days, initiatives and other items;
  • Set and meet quantitative goals in building an audience and reaching more people;
  • Re-envision the newsletter and all posted content to be more engaging and easily accessible for sharing by partners.

Time Commitment: Part-time, 20 hours a week

The Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is tasked with cultivating professional relationships with faith-based organizations, academic institutions, and NGOs.
