The mission of Guardian Angel Orthodox Day School is to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—through a program that is excellent academically, rich culturally, and founded on Orthodox Christian faith.
Guardian Angel Orthodox Day School is the parochial school of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Des Plaines , IL . Since opening its doors in 1999 as an Orthodox Christian early childhood education center, the school has grown into a full day program offering pre-K through fourth grade for more than 100 students. (The fourth grade class will be new in the fall of 2010; we anticipate adding fifth grade in 2011.) Academic excellence, highly qualified teachers, and small class sizes are coupled with a program that is grounded in Orthodox faith and values. In addition to required grade school subjects, the program includes religious instruction, church attendance, gym, music, art, and Greek language and culture.
