Job Description
Koraes Elementary School, with over a 100-year history, is looking to hire an energetic individual for our newly created position of Development Officer. This person will focus primarily on marketing and fundraising development to both internal customers/alumni/current donors/parishioners and external prospects to attend school as well as marketing and promoting the school to prospective external financial supporters.
Ideal for a person who wants to take the next step in developing their non-profit career by assuming a new position that allows for individual responsibility/accountability/creativity within a smaller organizational setting.
Job Requirements
Skill sets: experience executing structured fundraising/email campaigns, database management skills and email address collection, knowledge of excel/word/Powerpoint and/or Google platform, ability to write/speak well, have a working knowledge of major social media platforms, and familiarity with grant writing.
Prior work or volunteer experience in a non-profit organization(s) is desired (does not need to be education based).
Expectations include: inspired by Christian faith, motivated to work independently and with a team, willing to ask questions to grow in knowledge, serve as a resource and support for school/volunteer-led events, work collaboratively with the principal/volunteer chairpersons/volunteers as needed, assist with grant writing, participate in evening meetings, be politely persistent, actively engage in the life of the school, travel in the immediate surrounding area of the school, maintain our school website, maintain communication with all organizational donors (current and prospective), able to use discretion with confidential materials/information.
Our ideal candidate needs to be a good communicator, well organized, possess excellent writing skills, is an extrovert, enjoys public speaking and meeting people, has a high level of self-direction who can work well both individually and in a team, has the ability to set priorities, reach goals and be evaluated on results. .
