Job Description

The Mission Center is currently looking to fill an open position that is essential to its ongoing efforts to grow its ministries. If you would like to work for the Church and help share the Orthodox Faith, please prayerfully consider submitting your resume for the position of Development & Marketing Administrative Assistant. This full-time position with benefits is responsible for assisting in the administrative activity for the OCMC Development and Marketing Departments. They work to help educate, engage, and inform the faithful of the United States in Orthodox Missions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow the guidelines, instructions and processes of the administration for the Development and Marketing Departments.
  • General administrative tasks such as typing, filing, data-entry, proof reading etc.
  • Compiles organizational letters, thank you notes and gifts, reports and other materials.
  • Assists in coordination and logistic preparation for Department travel and events.
  • Assists in all mailing (including packaging, correspondence, bulk mailings) associated with Development and Marketing Department programs (and other mailings as needed).
  • Fills in receptionist duties when necessary – answers telephone, routes calls, opens mail and gives out appropriate materials.
  • Greets visitors in various situations using tact, discretion, and courtesy.
  • Performs other work-related duties as required.


Job Requirements


The Development & Marketing Administrative Assistant shall have four years experience as an administrative assistant or secretary. A degree or certificate in secretarial skills can be substituted as appropriate.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong people skills.
  • Use a computer and associated software, especially word-processing, database and spreadsheet programs.  Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
  • Capability to learn new computer skills.
  • Ability to prepare written reports, maintain accurate records and communicate in writing effectively.
  • Work effectively with supervisor, peers and subordinate personnel.
