Parish Office Administrator (Part-Time)
Part-time, Hourly – No Benefits (hourly rate consumate with experience)


·       September to May: Monday – Thursday, 10am – 2pm


·       June to August: Tuesday & Thursday, 10am – 2pm


·       10 minute in/out grace period; one-hour notification of cancelation or sick leave to Parish Priest and Parish Council President; one-week notification of doctor appointments or other time off requested (non-emergency)

Reports to Parish Priest and Parish Council President

Overview: This position provides administrative support and customer service to the Parish Priest and St. George Community. The Office Administrator reports to the Parish Council Executive Board (managed by the Parish Council President), who reports to the Parish Priest.

Mission: To implement the vision, directions and policies established by the Parish Priest and Parish Council in meeting the mission statement of the church.

Function of Work: This position provides administrative support to the day-to-day operation of the and function of the parish under the direct direction of the Paris Priest. The position facilitates the work of the Parish Priest and Parish Council.


The Office Administrator is responsible for providing general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The Office Administrator works as a liaison between the various organizations and ministries of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, its vendors, the Atlanta Metropolis and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The Office Administrator embodies the values set forth by St. George Greek Orthodox Church, provides exceptional customer service, has excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to multi-task with a friendly demeanor. The Office Administrator shall maintain a positive and professional work environment, while demonstrating discretion and confidentiality in all matters related to the parish and its organizations and ministries.


Duties Include, but are not limited to:

·       Management of the main office phone and email; answer all emails and forward to the appropriate individuals; Send Community e-blasts as required


·       Organize e-mail correspondence using folders and filters as appropriate; Organize other electronic and paper correspondence as appropriate


·       Attend necessary trainings and/or meetings as advised by the St. George Parish Council Executive Board and Parish Priest


·       Provide administrative support to the Parish Priest


·       Oversee the administration and record keeping of the parish


·       Maintain up-to-date electronic membership records, parishioner database and vendor account information; maintain parish calendar


·       Update, review, print and assemble weekly bulletin


·       Assist Treasurer in basic accounting tasks, bill payment, budget management, and invoicing


·       Assist ministries and organizations as required


·       Other duties as assigned


·       Yearly or quarterly reviews as required




Job Requirements


·       High school diploma or equivalent work experience


·       Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Publisher, Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook


·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills


·       Basic knowledge of QuickBooks


·       Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects


·       Customer Service oriented


·       English Required. Greek and Spanish preferred, but not required
