Job Description


An immediate staffing need for a Missions Administrative Assistant to serve both the Missionary and Mission Teams Directors.  The general functions are assisting in the administrative program activity of the Missionary and Teams Departments.


The position will require occasional interfacing with clergy as well as team and missionary applicants, candidates, team members and missionaries serving in the field.  We are searching for someone who can work effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinate personnel; work in a detailed and organized manner with a professional attitude; someone with basic computer skills and capability to learn new computer skills; and has an interest in the mission work of the Church.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in all departmental administrative and clerical aspects of the Missionary and Teams programs, especially efforts related to answering inquiries, recruiting support, missionary/team member file creation and maintenance, and missionary/team member support.
  2.  Assist with monitoring projects conducted by missionaries and teams as required.
  3.  Scheduling of evaluation, orientation and training in preparation for deployment.
  4. Assist in researching, tracking and issuing of financial information and reports for missionaries and team members.
  5.  Track program indicators and assist with preparation of departmental management reports.
  6. General administrative tasks such as typing, filing, data-entry, and working with spreadsheets.
  7. Perform other work-related duties as required.

Job Requirements


The Missions Administrative Assistant shall have experience as an administrative assistant or similar position representing the same range of experience and/or skills described herein.  A degree, certificate, or other formal education in administrative/program management/secretarial skills or related field can be substituted as appropriate.

Additional desirable knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Use a computer and associated software, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Raiser’s Edge
  • Skilled working with spreadsheets and word processing programs
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prepare written reports, maintain accurate records and communicate in writing effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
