Program Description: CrossRoad is an engaging summer institute for Orthodox Christian high school juniors and seniors sponsored by the Office of Vocation & Ministry at Hellenic College. CrossRoad offers two ten-day sessions on the campus of Hellenic College/Holy Cross in Brookline, Massachusetts. The program dates for 2012 are June 23-July 3 and July 10-20.
CrossRoad Mission: The mission of CrossRoad is to inspire rising high school juniors and seniors to respond to the call to travel the road of Christ, for it is in Him they will find direction, meaning, hope, love, and answers.
CrossRoad DVD Mission:
The CrossRoad Memory DVD will encourage participants to do the following:
· To recall the gems that they received from the CR theological instruction, discussions and experiential learning.
· To reinforce the CrossRoad message upon departing the program.
· To refocus on the mission of CrossRoad.
· To remember the life-changing experience that they shared with twenty nine other high school students.
Job Title: Videographer/Media Director
Job Description: The Videographer/Media Director will film all key aspects of both CrossRoad sessions including, but not limited to, participant interaction, classroom lectures, travel highlights, staff programming, chapel services, and participant interviews for the purpose of a memory DVD and other promotional materials for each session reflecting the vision and central themes of CrossRoad. The media director will be required to collect the footage that will then be made into the DVD.
The media director will also be responsible for all other media throughout the two sessions of CrossRoad. This will include, but will not be limited to, coordinating audio recordings of sessions and speakers as well as organizing and uploading photographs and audio/video to the website.
The Videographer/Media Director should be able to maintain a flexible schedule, and effectively record footage at short notice as needed.
Dates: The Videographer/Media Director will meet several times with the CR Director/Assistant Director before the sessions begin, in order to map out the schedule and gain an understanding of the key elements – lectures, events and discussions – that need to be recorded. The Videographer/Media Director must be working through the CrossRoad sessions which run from June 23-July 3 and July 10-20, 2012. There will be a follow-up meeting of the staff on July 21, 2012 for evaluation, reflection, and recreation, that the Videographer/Media Director will participate in as well.
Lodging & food: The Media Director will be provided with a room in the Hellenic College/Holy Cross dormitory and meals for the duration of the training week and the CrossRoad program.
Stipend: Compensation for the filming and coordination of media through out the CrossRoad program will consist of a stipend of $1200-$1600 commensurate with experience.
