Church Choir Director

Job Description

The Choir Director is responsible to direct the choir during each Sunday Divine Liturgy.The Choir Director is responsible to prepare the choir for weekly Sunday Divine Liturgy at a weekly Wednesday practice. The additional services include Christmas Eve, Five Lenten Fridays, Holy Friday and Pascha.  In addition, special performances may occur during the year at the discretion of the Priest. The Choir Director is also responsible to maintain the music files in an orderly manner.   The Choir does not chant the Divine Liturgy in July or hold practices in July and August.  This position begins January 15, 2012.

Job Requirements

A strong musical background and experience in directing is desirable.

A basic understanding of the Divine Litrugy and other Orthodox services would be very beneficial.
