Full-Time Chanter

Job Description

Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River New Jersey is seeking to obtain the services of a Chanter for Sundays and all services of the liturgical cycle through the ecclesiastical year.

The applicant should be knowledgeable of the modal structure of Byzantine Chant, and be able to chant in English and Greek.

This position involves all Sunday services as well as many weekday services as well as all Sacraments The parish has several men that offer their services as assistants and are willing to learn from the applicant.

The compensation for this position is based on the experience of the applicant.
