Archives and Research Center Internship

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese is offering a Summer Internship Program for 2024. The program is for 8 weeks from June 3 to August 2. This internship program is being funded by a Leadership 100 Grant. The grant provides:

  • Stipend of $4,800.00 ($600.00 per week) 
  • Travel expense $25.00 per week for each intern
The intern will work in the NYC office Monday through Friday's from 9am to 5pm. There will be a 30-minute meal period. 
 
This internship is part of cohort group that will also work on a company project together. This group will provide a presentation to the Senior Leaders during the last week of the intern program.
 
Archives and Research Center of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is the world’s leading research center for the study of Orthodox Christianity and Hellenism in America.
 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Digital Preservation Archivist Project in the full range of activities involved, including research, relocation, description creation and cataloguing, and arrangement around archival collections.
  • Help creating metadata and documentation on organizational partner projects.
  • Prepare blog posts, and social media posts about the archives.
  • Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work accurately with detailed information.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ask questions when appropriate.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Priority will be given to candidates with Greek language reading proficiency.
